Fascinating Maritime Ladies is back!

In 2020, Young At Heart Theatre was thrilled to launch its 15th season with another partnership with Fascinating Ladies. The plan was a tour of seniors’ facilities, community and church halls throughout PEI in March and April. They were able to share Fascinating Maritime Ladies with audiences at four venues before Public Health declared a lockdown due to Covid 19 and the rest of the tour was regrettably postponed. Young At Heart Theatre is so happy to announce they are ready to launch their 2021 season! This year’s tour will be an exciting combination of indoor and outdoor live shows across PEI. They will kick off the tour with a performance of Fascinating Maritime Ladies and special guest Katie McGarry at the Kings Playhouse on April 25th at 2:00pm. Fascinating Maritime Ladies celebrates some of the wonderful female singers and songwriters from the East Coast and Quebec. Anne Murray, Rita MacNeil, Catherine Mackinnon, The Rankin Family, Edith Butler, and many more artists will be explored, with the Fascinating Ladies’ unique tight harmonies, and lively banter.

Young at Heart Theatre is a charity organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors though theatre, music and social interaction.
“ We are the only group of this type east of Ontario. We tour our shows to long-term care facilities, hospitals, community halls and places where seniors gather. This allows many seniors who may have mobility or other health issues to participate.” Says Board Chair Steve Forbes.

Young at Heart Theatre fundraiser and Birthday Bash!

Catherine O’Brien, Artistic Producer of Young at Heart Theatre, is turning 60 and she wants to celebrate with you!
Join her at the Arts Guild in Charlottetown on October 22 nd from 7-10pm, for a special musical event. Prince Edward Island’s live karaoke band, TAKE THE MIC, will give you the opportunity to sing live with your own back-up band! With a combined stage experience of over 100 YEARS, Todd MacLean, Liam Kearney, Adam MacGregor, and Deryl Gallant have what it takes to make you a star! The event will include a silent auction featuring unique experiential prizes including golf passes, dinner packages, theatre tickets, and a unique home concert and dinner party hosted by Catherine, well known PEI singer/songwriter Kelley Mooney and Island funny-man, Wade Lynch.
The proceeds from this event will go to Young at Heart Theatre’s upcoming production – An Intergenerational Celebration of Island Stories. This new show will tour to long-term and community care facilities, hospitals and small halls across PEI in the spring of 2017.
