Young at Heart Theatre is inviting musician/singers to apply for our newest production, Fascinating Country Ladies. This new show will cover female and non-binary artists who not only made their mark in the music scene but also helped to highlight women and gender rights through their music and activism. This show focuses on country and folk music, but we welcome all artists who are interested regardless of experience in those musical genres.
This show will tour across PEI to long-term care, community care facilities and small halls in the spring of 2026, with a commitment for 7-8 weeks beginning mid-March.
Artists must be able to sing and play at least one musical instrument and be comfortable with dialogue in English.
Three artists will be selected for a paid contract. Other activities will include loading in and out of the tour van, set up and tear down of a small set and musical instruments at each venue, and socializing with the audience after each show.
Young at Heart Theatre is committed to inclusion and equitable selection, promotion, recognition, and support for members of equity-deserving groups leading and delivering programming and performances as part of the Young at Heart Theatre programming.
We encourage equity-deserving artists to apply for this project.
Please send a resume and cover letter to catherine@yahtheatre.com. Please include your contact information, how many instruments you play and level of proficiency, and your vocal and performance experience. Deadline for applications is August 15th.
